Minling Pan Studio's MIN Launch

Tuesday, May 21, 2013
Earlier this month I had the fabulous opportunity of styling and modelling three outfits for Minling Pan Studio's 1-Year Anniversary and Product Launch Party.

I walked the runway with five other Toronto fashion personalities including Nicole (Dainty Girl), Elaine (Toronto Beauty Reviews), Brittany + Maleah (Sparks Twins) and Bianca. I won't lie, it was nerve-wracking being backstage waiting for my turn, especially since I kept having visions of falling and breaking an ankle, but I'm glad none of that happened and the whole fashion show and event was successful.

The Arta Gallery in the Distillery District was the perfect venue to host Minling Pan Studio's 1-Year Anniversary, and the runway looked great. They even had a photographer section, also famously known as the "Photo Pit".

I'd like to thank and give credit to Minling Pan (designer and host of the evening), Valerie Stachurski and Charming Media (event organizers and volunteers), Jiacong Huang + Peter Liang + Anthony Cheung + Ming Siu (photographers), the BlushPretty team and Tiffany Watson (makeup) and Spellbound Hair Design (hair). Jewelry was my own and the black patent pumps are from Nine West.

Back in January, Minling Pan Studio had a media party where we were able to preview and provide feedback on their latest and private label, MIN (handbags). Since then I've been trying to decide which gorgeous clutch to purchase, but the entire collection officially launched at the event. You can check it out and shop online as well.

The idea behind the fashion show was for Toronto fashion bloggers to style outfits using clothing from Minling Pan Studio that would complement a handbag or clutch from the MIN label. Check out the looks I created and modeled!

The first look was inspired by the Cologne Bottle Design Box Clutch, which comes in white and black with a detachable chain.

As soon as I saw this mustard-coloured Rectangle Tote (which also comes in blue), I wanted to create a look around it. I picked this zebra-print blue and white top from Minling Pan Studio's Spring/Summer 2013 collection with black pants and classic patent pumps.

My third and final look for Minling Pan Studio's Fashion Show was this incredible jumpsuit, which really didn't need any work.

The Colour-block Box Clutch (comes in red/navy or pink/coffee) is one of the most coveted pieces from the MIN collection. It's a statement in itself and can be paired well with any outfit, formal or casual, and will make you look super fashionable.

Check out some of the other looks my blogger friends styled and modeled!

Elaine Atkins from Toronto Beauty Reviews looked ravishing in a slightly messy, but classy updo. My favourite look was the black high-low dress! Click here to read her recap of the MIN Launch Party.

Nicole Wilson a.k.a. Dainty Girl changed it up a bit with a loose spiral curls. I loved how she styled the animal-print tunic dress! Don't forget to check out her recap of the event.

Minling Pan Studio's Product Launch Party

Thursday, May 2, 2013
Back in January I had the chance to check out Minling Pan Studio in Toronto, and loved it. Now it's April and Minling is celebrating her 1-year anniversary of the studio in a very special way.

On Monday, May 6, Minling Pan Studio and Charming Media will be hosting a Fashion Show and Product Launch Party for their new collection of handbags called MIN at the Arta Gallery in the Distillery District.

I'm excited to share that I will be walking the runway (as a model!) for Minling Pan Studio's Fashion Show along with five other Toronto fashion ladies Nicole (Dainty Girl), Elaine (Toronto Beauty Reviews), Brittany + Maleah (Sparks Twins) and Bianca!

The media event in January was a lot of fun with a creative set-up including a photobooth, so I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for us this time.

Hope you all can make it! RSVP by e-mail to get on the list. For all my readers and friends who aren't in Toronto, stay tuned for photos and a recap of the event.

Blazer and Jeans

Outfit Details: Blazer + Jeans (MANGO), Top (c/o Killigrew Fashion), Belt + Bag + Accessories (H&M), Boots (random boutique), Ring (Minling Pan Studio)

It's been a while since I wore a blazer and remembered I had this really amazing one from when I used to work at MANGO (Yorkdale location, which is sadly closed now). Whenever I wear traditional suiting attire, I always like to mix it up with a lot of colour and accessories. I'm lucky that I don't have to come into work dressed formally every day, it means that I can never get tired of the classic blazer look.

An Evening at Minling Pan Studio

Outfit Details: Pink Sequin Blazer (H&M), Boots (Vianni Collection), Crossbody Bag (Etienne Aigner), Black Top + Bodycon Skirt (Forever 21), Earrings (Butterfly Beads), Bracelet + Necklace (gift)

If you haven't been to Minling Pan Studio (also known as Shining Image) in Toronto yet, I highly recommend checking it out. Founded by Minling Pan, this boutique has everything you could ever want or need including clothes, jewelry, evening clutches, everyday handbags, as well as a unique selection of nail polishes!

I had the opportunity to visit the store last week when Valerie Stachurski of Charming Media invited me to an exclusive shopping party, where I tried really hard not to indulge in everything! I had to keep reminding myself that I'm still on a spending budget, but I will definitely be going back for items to add to my Spring wardrobe. (Who wants to go with meee?)

Minling is a professional colour, style and wardrobe consultant. While we were exploring the studio and shopping, she did personal one-on-one consultations with attendees and helped identify what sort of items and colours look good on them. Apparently I'm doing something right, because she said my pink blazer-cardi complemented my skin-tone perfectly. I was flattered!

Most of my evening was spent chit-chatting with other girls, munching on delicious fruits and veggies (with chocolate… YUM), and looking at beautiful statement necklaces and unique dresses.

Here are some photos from the evening:

Some of the items in the store to give you an idea of what Minling's style is like; those statement necklaces are to-die-for.

Here I am with Minling! She is adorable.

Hanging out with Valerie - thanks for organizing a lovely shopping event!

It's always great catching up with Nicole and Bianca.

Beauty bloggers Elaine and Stephanie were also present. (Love this photo!)

After non-stop tweeting with JJ Cowen for weeks, we finally got to meet.

Obligatory photo with Grace (so adorable) and my lovely date from the evening, Ria!

Again, I was really happy to see fruits and vegetables among other appetizers like macarons, wine and sparkling water.
By the way, did I mention there was a Photo Booth on-sight, handmade by Minling?!

So, this had to happen! Love.
